"In early July 2014, Will started to feel some pain in his groin and lower back. This pain continued, traveling to various parts of his body. At his graduation party, Will put on a big smile for his friends & family and enjoyed seeing everyone, despite the pain he was in. His pain came and went for the next few weeks and then it intensified during our family vacation in Michigan in late July. Upon returning home, Will underwent rigorous testing and on August 7th, 2014 he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Will's condition is curable, but will require a tremendous amount of treatment. On August 11th Will began his stay at the University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital, being cared for by one of the best Cancer Teams in medicine. Will just hit the one year anniversary of his ALL diagnosis, although he has been through a lot in the past year, he still manages to maintain a positive attitude and warrior-like determination to beat this awful disease. Will’s chemotherapy treatment will continue through December of 2017 to eliminate all of the Leukemia cells in his body. A long road for sure, we are committed as a family to get through this together. Thank you for taking the time to read our story."
